Multichoice Group here to stay

MultiChoice Group head of corporate affairs Lithlare Motete has assured that the pay satellite television company will continue to provide its services in Malawi and beyond despite the new acquisition by new owners. She made the remarks at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre yesterday during a breakfast meeting with entertainment and business journalists. Motete, who was accompanied by MultiChoice Group corporate communications senior manager Moipone Tsotetsi, said although the group has been taken over by global media company Canal+ which now directly owns majority shares of the company, their operations will remain the same. “We will continue to give our clients the same high quality entertainment that they know us for. As some may have noticed that we have actually added a few French sports channels on DStv, Things will only get better,” said Motete. On her part, MultiChoice Malawi corporate affairs manager Deborah Matowe-Mzembe said the meeting was meant to strength ties between the media and MultiChoice Group as it goes through a few changes. She said media is important to disseminate information to clients; hence, the need for the two sides to have a better working relationship. MultiChoice Group, through MultiChoice Malawi, is the provider of digital television services in Malawi through their two platforms of DStv and Gotv.
