MSNBC’s Ali Velshi this weekend looked at how Donald Trump’s administration is delivering on the right-wing Heritage Foundation’s controversial Project 2025 playbook, which the now-president sought to distance himself from on the 2024 campaign trail.
And the anchor warned: “And by the way, we’re not done.”
Many of the authors who contributed to the 900-page blueprint for reshaping the government are now leading the federal departments and agencies that they wrote about, noted Velshi.

Those authors must feel “their time was worth it,” he argued, as Trump has rammed through many of their ideas. The dismantling of the Department of Education and the White House’s “war on climate research” are among many, many proposals “straight from these pages,” he added.
“All of this adds up to a wildly successful first eight months for the conservative interest groups and think tanks that joined up to write Project 2025,” said Velshi.
He then warned: “And by the way, we’re not done.”
Velshi noted how the Heritage Foundation is releasing a new book that will take on the Constitution.
“What could possibly go wrong?” he asked.
