Mr. Beast Joins The Cast Of Beauty And The Beast In SNL Disney Spoof

Recently, Saturday Night Live reimagined the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast with a twist. Instead of a monstrous beast, Belle, played by host Nikki Glaser, falls in love with YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known more widely as Mr. Beast. Mr. Beast first rose to fame in 2017, after a video of him counting to 100,000 went viral. Since then, he has amassed 450 million subscribers due to his particular brand of challenge-based content, and he has expanded into various other media and business ventures. His primary demographic is viewers under 25 years of age, with a large portion of his audience being male. The SNL spoof opens with Mr. Beast, played here by Ben Marshall, locking Belle's father in a dungeon for 30 days "for the chance to win $300,000." It then continues to make light of Mr. Beast's challenges, which often put people in outlandish scenarios for cash or other prizes. The skit doubles down on this by revealing that the castle's enchanted servants are also participating, with Kenan Thompson's Cogsworth quipping that he was offered $2,500 if he could spend the year as a clock. Highlights of the skit include Thompson and fellow cast member Bowen Yang singing parodies of "Be Our Guest" and "Beauty and the Beast." It also features title cards teasing the fictional film as "From the executive producers that thought, 'Nobody sees movies anymore, so eff it, Hail Mary?' and the director of Kai Cenat's Kai-sablanca," a spoof of popular streamer Kai Cenat. "I don't get it. – Every person ovr 25," another card reads, poking fun at Mr. Beast's target demographic. The majority of the skit's jokes riff off of his challenge videos, including the punchline of the entire spoof. Belle decides she does love Mr. Beast, but to stay with him, he challenges her to spend 30 days in a car with two sumo wrestlers. She agrees solely because he is a billionaire.
