Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott came back into splendid form this year by losing 50 pounds. It has translated into his success on the gridiron. America’s Team has a 3-3 win-loss record and a draw against the Green Bay Packers. But the signal caller has a different approach as pressure rises. “The sky is the limit,” he said about his offense as the team prepares for a tough stretch from late-November to mid-December. From week 12 to week 16, they play 5 different playoff contenders. With the Philadelphia Eagles (week 12) and Detroit Lions (week 14) in red-hot form, he wants to secure early wins. Through seven games, Dak Prescott has completed 185 of 259 passes for a 71.4% completion rate, totaling 1,881 yards, an average of 268.7 yards per game. He’s thrown 16 touchdowns against just three interceptions and added 56 rushing yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Prescott has been sharp and steady, effectively leading the Cowboys’ offense, though sustaining this level of production for the rest of the season remains a key challenge. He recorded a 74-yard touchdown run against the Washington Commanders in the Week 7 game. It also increased their lead to 17-8 in the first half of the game. “There’s some meat on the bone that we left out there. I feel like we can get better,” the receiver said after the week 7 victory. In 7 games, he caught 36 passes out of 54 targets for 607 yards (86.7 yards per game). He is leading the Cowboys’ receiving corps with 6 touchdowns. He is a key player for Prescott in the passing game. Owner and GM Jerry Jones didn’t even pay attention to Pickens’ agent being David Mulugheta, who was also Micah Parsons‘ agent. The only silver lining during the challenging stretch (weeks 12-16) is that they play 4 of those 5 games at AT&T Stadium. After losing the week 6 game by 27-30 to the Carolina Panthers, they rebounded strongly, particularly on defense. The Cowboys’ defense looked much better than in recent weeks. Cornerback DaRon Bland made the biggest play of the game, a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown. Linebackers Kenneth Murray Jr. recorded 9 tackles (6 solo), and Shemar James tackled the rivals 9 times (4 solo). Both also had a sack. But the highlight was their offense. The Cowboys ran the ball really well. Javonte Williams was the star, rushing 19 times for 116 yards and one touchdown. He broke several tackles and kept the offense moving. In the receiving game, CeeDee Lamb was electric for Dallas. He caught 5 passes for 110 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown. Tight end Jake Ferguson also had a big game, catching 7 passes and scoring two touchdowns. “With good fortune and good health, I don’t see why this group won’t be one of the best,” Prescott added while keeping high expectations. With such big glimpses of talent, they have all the skill and potential to make it to the playoffs. If Dak Prescott keeps leading them the same way, they can even win the Super Bowl.
