Mountain rescue teams were called out after a man was thrown from a motocross bike in a crash over the weekend. Paramedics along with specialist rescue teams from Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue responded on Saturday afternoon (November 8). It followed reports a man had been injured after being involved in the incident near to Bacup and had come off his bike. Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE The casualty, whose age was not confirmed, had been riding up at Bacup MX Track when the crash occurred and suffered a back injury in the fall. He was later transferred to the care of North West Ambulance Service paramedics. A statement read: "On Saturday afternoon we received a request from the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with an incident near Bacup, where a casualty had come off their motocross bike. "Whilst those members who were at out base training responded with the team response vehicles, other volunteers made their way directly to the location. "The casualty had been riding up at Bacup MX Track, and suffered a back injury when taken a fall. It was expected that the NWAS crew would require additional assistance to ensure the casualty could be transferred safely to the ambulance. "Team members were deployed and once on scene the casualty was transferred onto the Bell and Wheel for a short extraction to the awaiting ambulance."
