Mouni Roy's Restaurant Badmaash Serves Rs 400 Bhel, Rs 100 Roti: 'I Believe We Don't...'

The menu at Mouni Roy’s restaurant, Badmaash, includes fusion Indian food, a side of delicious concoctions, and a real Bollywood vibe. From a bar that is literally lit to lush plants and leaves everywhere – on the walls, ceilings and even on the lights – Badmaash looks inviting. And now, as per a report by SCREEN, the prices of some of the most popular dishes have been revealed. The report mentions that most items in the menu are priced between Rs 300 and Rs 800. Shahi Tukda and Gulab Jamun are priced at Rs 410 each. The restaurant also sells Avocado Bhel, priced at Rs 395. Mouni Roy told IndianRetailer.com, “I love avocado and I love jhalmuri, so we came up with Avocado Bhel.” Items like Masala Peanut, Masala Papad, Crispy Corn, and Sev Puri cost Rs 295 each. Kanda Bhajiya is priced at Rs 355, and prawn-based dishes are priced around Rs 795. The breads include Tandoori Roti for Rs 105, Naan for Rs 115, and Amritsari Kulcha for Rs 145. Mouni explained her inspiration behind the restaurant and said, “I love Indian food. Whenever I travel for work, I look for Indian restaurants everywhere. It resonated with me. I truly believe that we don’t have as many good Indian restaurants, especially in Bengaluru and Mumbai, so it was a great opportunity to have something like Badmaash.” “Whenever I travelled, I would always sit at a café with my book, a coffee, and a croissant. That ritual made me imagine owning a café of my own. It didn’t work out back then, but thanks to my husband and his best friends at VRO, I got the opportunity to own a restaurant — and I jumped at it,” she said. In 2023, expressing her excitement about her new venture, Mouni Roy had said, “I am thrilled to open Badmaash, a restaurant that represents my love for progressive Indian cuisine. The menu at Badmaash is an absolute delight, and I am excited to share this culinary journey with everyone. The Stir-fried Mushroom Milagu with Shimeji Crisps is one of my personal favourites, and I can’t wait for everyone to try it. The Mounilicious cocktail is also a must-try, a perfect blend of flavours and a subtle hint of curry leaves that will surprise your taste buds.” Meanwhile, on the film front, the last time we saw Mouni was in Salakaar. Before that, she was also in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva (2022). In the movie starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, she portrayed the villain Junoon.
