The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is launching a set of eight comic books under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. These comic books have been published by the Directorate of Public Relations, Publication & Publicity, Directorate of Income Tax. This engaging series features Motu Patlu and aims to promote tax literacy among school children and create awareness about the role of Income Tax in the development of the country. "All CBSE-affiliated schools are encouraged to share this resource widely among students, teachers, parents, and all stakeholders. Schools may also consider integrating relevant content from the comic books into their awareness activities to contribute to building a culture of tax awareness and informed citizenship," an official CBSE circular stated. "I am your Jaankari Babu, I provide Tax information on your cue. If you pay your taxes honestly, In this Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, you will be hailed as a 'Hero' surely," the comic book shares with a graphic. The comics also teach students about paying tax on time, and in advance; some explain what TDS is, and more such topics. One instance goes like this: Motu: “Even I’ll pay my advance tax well on time and become model & honest tax payer.” Patlu: “Now onwards we will pay our taxes at regular intervals on time, so that we don’t get burdened at the year-end and the country keeps progressing.” The comics are available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Gujarati version. The titles include: Motu Patlu – Benefits of Abiding by the Law!, Hamaara Bharat Mahan!, Motu Patlu & Together, We Rise!, Motu Patlu & The Online Life!, Motu Patlu & Victory Over Fear!, Motu Patlu & The Story of Income Tax, Motu Patlu & Tax Pari, Motu Patlu & The Story of PAN Card.
