A recent viral video highlights such a tragic story from Bihar, where a man reportedly spent a staggering Rs 72 lakh on alcohol, even going as far as selling his property to fund his addiction.

The video was shared on Instagram by journalist Jitesh Kumar Singh (@reporterjitesh), who interviewed the man, whose real name remains undisclosed. The reporter refers to him as ‘Motu Lal’, a nickname seemingly based on his appearance.

The man candidly admitted to selling land worth Rs 4.5 million and even pawning his wife’s jewellery, all to feed his drinking habit.
His story is both shocking and heartbreaking. During the interview, his mother appears visibly distressed. When asked if he regrets his decisions, the man admits that he does, and reflects that had he stayed away from alcohol, he might have become a millionaire.
