An unidentified parent who accompanied her child to the ongoing military recruitment exercise at El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, has condemned the poor management of the exercise. In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb, she said, “It’s something else we don’t understand, the place was choked, and for someone who is not here to hear about the death of the child, it is serious here.” Six reported dead over stampede during military recruitment exercise Six people have been confirmed dead, while several others are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the 37 Military Hospital. The Ghana Armed Forces explained that the stampede occurred after thousands of young Ghanaians thronged the stadium in a desperate bid to secure enlistment. Intense jostling at entry points led to chaos, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities.
