Most Haunted

The great British spook hunt returns for a 27th series, presented by Yvette Fielding

Year: 2002-

The spook hunt Most Haunted is a TV institution that dates back to 2002, when it was shown on the now-defunct pay channel, Living TV. For years on Living, presenter Yvette Fielding roamed the UK, joined by spook experts and psychics – memorably, the wonderfully theatrical Derek Acorah – to await contact from the spirits inside all manner of creepy properties. The show later moved to another channel – Really – until 2019 before relocating to YouTube, where Fielding continued to look for ghosts.

Her husband Karl Beattie has worked tirelessly behind the camera throughout the life of show – they’re one of TV’s less-sung double acts and Most Haunted has become a bit of a family business in general, with Karl and Yvette’s daughter Mary Beattie putting in shifts as a paranormal investigator.

Now, Yvette and Karl bring the latest 27th series to the free streaming service Pluto TV, with all previous series available on demand. Fielding is excited about the future of the show and had this to say to us about it:

‘We can’t thank Pluto TV enough for their support and continued belief of this wonderful show, which I am so passionate about. Most Haunted has been a landmark television programme for 24 years which has entertained, informed and challenged audiences all over the world and with Pluto TV it continues its remarkable journey. We are very proud of this new series which I hope the audience will love watching as much as we loved filming it. We are only here because of our wonderful fans which are the best in the world.’

Starting on Wednesday 1 October, episodes of the new series arrive weekly in double bills up to Halloween, with locations to include: Belan Fort in North Wales, The Priest’s Cottage in Leeds, Plas Coch in Wales and Manchester Transport Museum. (27 series)
