Morphy Richards slow cooker slashed to £58 at little-known retailer cheaper than Amazon

As the year draws to a close, many homes will be shifting their dinnertime menus to hearty meals like stews and soups. A slow cooker is an incredibly easy way to let these dishes simmer away in the background, delivering tender, flavourful results with minimal supervision. Beyond convenience, slow cookers are energy-efficient too, using less power than an oven. Currently, the Morphy Richards Sear and Stew 6.5-litre slow cooker is available from Yimbly for £64, down from £74.99. However, shoppers can get it for £57.60 - even cheaper than Amazon , where it also costs £64 - with the discount code 'AUTUMN10', which is valid until the end of November. Yimbly is an online marketplace owned by the Daily Record's parent company, Reach Plc. The Morphy Richards cooking appliance boasts a large 6.5-litre capacity, so it’s ideal for family meals or batch cooking. Unlike some other models, its aluminium pot can be used on the hob, so ingredients can be browned or seared directly on the stove before slow cooking. Three heat settings allow for flexible cooking, while a transparent lid provides a window for monitoring progress. The slow cooker is incredibly easy to clean, too, as both the non-stick pan and lid are dishwasher safe. A cheaper alternative is the 3L chalkboard slow cooker available from Dunelm for £17.60, down from £22. This novel appliance features a matte black finish that can be written on with chalk, perfect for jotting down recipe notes mid-cooking. Or there's this Cookworks 3.5L Slow Cooker in Black from Argos , available for £22. The brand says this product is 'perfect for a couple or a small family', as it's suggested for three to four portions, and it has three heat settings, including a keep warm function. There are currently no reviews for the Morphy Richards 6.5L Sear and Stew slow cooker on Yimbly, however it is currently rated 4.6 out of five on Amazon , where many users have left glowing reviews. One said: “Lovely size, and doesn’t have that Crock-Pot taste that I don’t like! Wonderful to clean and light.” As part of a longer review, another customer gave five stars, writing: “This was bought as a replacement for my Crock-Pot after the ceramic bowl cracked. The metal liner is easy to clean, you can use it on the hob, and it’s dishwasher safe, although it's so easy to clean, ours is just washed by hand.” A third added: “Fabulous slow cooker. If you are thinking of buying one, this is my absolute favourite ever. I cook massive amounts, small amounts, but starting every one on the hob is amazing. Buy it. You won't regret it.” One customer did mention a slight drawback in their review, saying: “So pleased I bought this. The removable pan is lightweight and easy to clean, in fact the whole slow cooker is light so easy to handle. “The only downside was when I used it on the hob to seal the meat (as suggested), the pan was so hot you needed oven gloves to hold it while stirring and to transport it to the cooker base. Next time I will have to use a different pan and transfer it for safety.” Another mentioned the size of the Morphy Richards appliance , adding: “A very fine looking pot that is miles too big for us. Husband ordered it, thinking bigger is better when it’s for two! This would do a large family and look great in the kitchen from cooking to table. “Sadly I had to return it as our days of large family cooking are past. Well packaged, speedy delivery, and excellent return and refund. I highly recommend it, but not for two old folk with small appetites.”
