In this episode of Morning Edition, Rhondall Feeles, President of the Fathers' Association is sounding the alarm on what he calls a silent crisis affecting families across Trinidad and Tobago. New data he obtained from a judiciary certified DNA lab shows that over a five year period, one in every three men who underwent paternity testing were not the biological fathers of the children in question. Feeles says the situation is serious enough to warrant mandatory paternity testing before child maintenance orders are issued. He says the mining sector is in crisis operators are stalled, jobs are at risk, and no processing licenses have been issued since the Minerals Act was proclaimed. He is calling for clarity, urgency, and a workable framework that protects the environment while allowing national infrastructure to progress.
