More Than Just A Headache, How Migraine Is Silently Stealing Everyday Life Of Over A Billion People

Most people think of migraine as a bad headache, something a painkiller and a few hours of rest can fix. But this belief hides a far harsher truth. Migraine is a complex neurological disorder that affects over a billion people worldwide, making it one of the leading causes of years lived with disability, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). According to the Global Health Estimates 2021, migraine headaches were found to be second second-highest cause of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) among people of 15-29 years of age worldwide and fourth-highest overall in the world.
