Mohanlal Defends Same Sex Couple On Bigg Boss Malayalam 7: 'If You Can't Stand Them...'

Superstar Mohanlal recently impressed everyone when he decided to call out homophobia on his show, Bigg Boss Malayalam 7. During a special episode over the weekend, Mohanlal confronted contestant Lakshmi for her comments against fellow contestants Adhila and Noora, who are also a same sex couple. While Lakshmi had said that the same sex couple would not be welcomed into other people’s homes due to their orientation, Mohanlal bashed her and gave her a befitting reply.
“Who are the people unworthy of being welcomed into homes?” Mohanlal said. While Lakshmi refused to feel apologetic, Mohanlal further slammed her and asked her to leave the show. “I will welcome them to my home. You need to be careful with such comments when you’re here. What right do you have to say who is allowed in houses? If you can’t stand them, leave the house, get off the show,” he said.
Former Contestants Laud Mohanlal’s Step
Soon after the episode aired, former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestants took to social media to praise Mohanlal for calling out homophobia on the show. “Lal Sir, Goosebumps, Pwolichuu! (He nailed it),” wrote Dr Robin Radhakrishnan from Season 4. Actor and transgender activist Nadira Mehrin from Season 5 also said, “Lalettan has just said what the whole society had to say.”
