Mohamed Salah could miss 11 Liverpool games and has clear stance ahead of crunch meeting

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is set for crunch talks with Egypt boss Hossam Hassan next week as he tries to avoid another club-versus-country dispute ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt have a training camp before facing United Arab Emirates (UAE) on December 6, Jordan on December 9 and Nigeria on December 14 in preparation for the winter tournament. According to outlet WinWin, Egypt boss Hassan has the right to call up Liverpool's Salah - and Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush - for those three fixtures. Liverpool , however, face Leeds United and Brighton in the Premier League - as well as Inter Milan in the Champions League - that week, and want Salah available for them matches. As reported by the Daily Mail , Salah would also prefer to stay and play those competitive games for Liverpool, before then heading off to duty with Egypt the following week. Salah, 33, is expected to sit down with Hassan during the November international break, with Egypt set to Uzbekistan on November 14 and Algeria on November 17 in two friendlies. The ex-Chelsea and Roma man is keen to avoid a row between his club and country - two years after Liverpool wrote to Egypt asking for him to be exempt from an international camp to better his long-term health. Locals in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, were furious and said it was 'their right' to call up Salah. However, the national team ended up accepting Liverpool's request and Salah stayed on Merseyside. Now, Liverpool and Egypt must agree on when Salah is going to be allowed to leave for the upcoming AFCON tournament, which gets underway on December 21 and runs through to January 18, in Morocco. Making the assumption that Salah is granted his wish and leaves after the Brighton game on December 13, the worst-case scenario for the Reds would see him miss eight matches. He would be unavailable for Premier League fixtures against Tottenham , Wolves , Leeds, Fulham , Arsenal and Burnley , plus a Champions League game at Marseille four days after the AFCON final and the FA Cup third round in early January. If Egypt reach the last two, Salah's Liverpool return could be at Bournemouth on January 24. Salah has scored five goals and provided three assists in 15 appearances for the Reds this season. Although he has struggled for form, he has found the net in each of his last two Premier League matches. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
