Mizzou flips former Mississippi State commit, adds to 2026 recruiting class

Mizzou Football has swiped a recruit from an SEC foe.
On Sunday, head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff flipped the commitment of EDGE rusher Micah Nickerson, who was previously pledged to Mississippi State since June. He also held offers from Virginia, Tulane, Louisiana and more.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound talent is rated as a four-star prospect in the 247 Sports Composite, considered the No. 43-ranked player at his position and the No. 428-ranked recruit in the nation.
Nickerson also has some Mid-Missouri ties. He actually played his freshman season at Hickman High School in Columbia before transferring to South Pike High School in Mississippi, where he registered 34 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 11 sacks during his junior campaign.
Mizzou’s 2026 recruiting class features 12 commits, four on defense and eight on offense. According to 247 Sports ratings, all of the team’s prospects are listed as three-star talents, making up the No. 78-ranked class in the country.
