The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will make an official visit to New York from September 20 to 24 to participate in the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly, the President’s press service reported.
The Head of State is scheduled to deliver a speech on the first day of the General Debate of the UN General Assembly.
It is noteworthy that this year’s anniversary session of the General Assembly will address pressing issues such as ensuring global security and stability, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, reforming the UN system and the international financial architecture, addressing the consequences of climate change, and tackling other contemporary threats.
During the summit, Uzbekistan’s leader will hold talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, representatives of foreign states and governments, and heads of prominent international financial institutions.
The business segment of the visit will include meetings and events with leading US companies and financial-investment institutions. A series of new agreements and contracts are expected to be signed.
