During his working visit to the United States, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held his traditional meeting with Uzbeks living and working in the country, as well as with scholarship holders of the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation studying at prestigious American universities. This was reported by the press service of the President.

During the informal conversation, issues related to the implementation of reforms in New Uzbekistan were discussed, particularly the participation of Uzbeks abroad and their unifying organizations in actively promoting these changes.

The meeting also marked the launch of the “International Business Marathon of Compatriots,” aimed at creating a platform for dialogue between citizens and young people who have successfully started entrepreneurial ventures.

Participants shared proposals for expanding and strengthening trade, economic, investment, scientific, and educational ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. They also suggested introducing advanced American technologies into priority sectors of the national economy, promoting innovations in medicine, transport, and logistics, and developing marketplaces in Uzbekistan.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to those present for their contribution to the country’s development, noting that all proposals and initiatives put forward would be thoroughly studied by relevant ministries and agencies, and the most promising ones would be implemented in practice.

President Mirziyoyev paid particular attention to the fact that the number of “El-Yurt Umidi” scholarship holders in the United States has now exceeded 500. He emphasized that supporting talented young people and creating opportunities for them to apply their knowledge and experience in Uzbekistan is one of the main priorities of state policy.

The president wished the students success in their studies and future professional endeavors, stressing that he is always open to youth initiatives and ready to support them in every possible way.

In turn, the participants of the meeting expressed their gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the attention given to compatriots and youth abroad, the conditions and opportunities created for realizing their potential, and their readiness to make an even greater contribution to the development of Uzbekistan.
