On November 5, during his working visit to Washington, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with U.S. Senator Steve Daines, Co-Chair of the Central Asia Caucus in the U.S. Senate. The meeting took place at the residence allocated to the Uzbek leader, the presidential press service reported. The sides discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and expanding multifaceted cooperation. President Mirziyoyev highly appreciated interparliamentary relations, particularly the activities of the Senate’s Central Asia Caucus. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the unprecedentedly high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years. Special attention was given to maintaining active collaboration with the State of Montana, which Senator Daines represents. The sides agreed to organize a visit of Montana’s business delegation to Uzbekistan. They also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues of mutual interest. It is worth noting that earlier, on the same day, President Mirziyoyev met with members of the U.S. House of Representatives — Bill Huizenga, Carol Miller, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove — as part of his visit to Washington.
