Staff Reporter THE Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) received its first delivery of essential medicines and clinical supplies procured directly from manufacturers, marking a major step toward a more efficient and transparent medical supply chain in Namibia. Health and Social Services Minister Dr. Esperance Luvindao said, “We are operating with a renewed sense of purpose to strengthen the nation’s health system. Our goal is to reach a point where drug shortages in health facilities are no longer a daily concern, ensuring a better quality of life for all Namibians.” Photos: Ministry of Health and Social Services Dr. Tjijandjeua Kandetu, who received the first shipment on behalf of the MoHSS Executive Director, said, “The Ministry is working hard to restore stock levels at the Central Medical Stores to over 80%. This first tranche of deliveries is a testament to our commitment, with the next shipment expected by 29 October 2025.” The shipment, delivered to the Ministry’s Central Medical Stores, includes products from Pfizer and is part of a series of continuous deliveries expected over the coming weeks and months. This initiative aims to secure quality medicines at better value while reducing delays and shortages in health facilities nationwide.
