(CNS): The Ministry of Caymanian Employment and Immigration will begin hosting a series of public town hall events on the recently published reform bill. The meetings start this evening, Wednesday 29 October at 6pm at the Mary Miller Hall, in Red Bay which will be live streamed on CIGTV. Michael Myles, MP, Minister for Caymanian Employment & Immigration, Chief Officer Wesley Howell and representatives from WORC will be there to answer questions on the bill which will be presented to parliament next Wednesday. The public roadshow then moves to Cayman Brac tomorrow evening where the meeting will be held at the Layman E Scott High School starting at 6:30pm until 8:30pm. Officials will then be at the Craddock Ebanks Civic Center in North Side on Monday evening when the meeting starts at 7:00pm. A Q&A session will follow after a presentation on the proposed changes at each of the meetings. Government published the much anticipated reform bill last month which proposes a number of changes to the time it takes to acquire PR and status and aims to prevent job hoping among a number of other reforms including making government agencies exchange relevant information as a legal requirement to ensure future decisions regarding all aspects of the immigration systems are based on accurate data.
