Doha, November 04 (QNA) - HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah met Tuesday with a number of Qatari farm owners, within efforts to enhance food security and achieve self-sufficiency in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.The meeting reviewed ways to develop the national agricultural sector and address the challenges facing farmers to increase local agricultural production and improve the quality of national products.HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah affirmed exceptional attention given by the Ministry to the agricultural sector, considering it a cornerstone of the sustainable development system, noting that the Ministry is working to create an integrated and stimulating agricultural environment by developing farm infrastructure, providing technical and advisory support, and encouraging the adoption of the latest smart agricultural technologies that contribute to increasing production efficiency and achieving long-term food security.His Excellency added that the Ministry seeks to empower Qatari farmers and enhance their role as active partners in the national food security system, pointing out that Qatari farms serve as a model for adopting modern and sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to achieving self-sufficiency and supporting the national economy.Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Food Security Affairs Engineer Fahad Mohammed Al Qahtani, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi, and a number of officials and specialists from the Ministry attended the meeting.This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings organized by the Ministry of Municipality with its partners in the food security system for a consultative and integrated approach aimed at strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors and supporting national farms as a key pillar in achieving sustainable agricultural development and ensuring the country's food security.
