In the latest Minecraft snapshot 25w44a, Mojang released a brand new skeleton variant called Parched. This variant will officially release with the Mounts of Mayhem game drop coming sometime in winter. This means that deserts will have a blend of both regular and Parched skeletons.Similar to every hostile creature, these will also spawn only if the light level of a block in the desert biome is 0. Like the zombie husk, a Parched skeleton will also not spawn in caves, even though they are underneath the Desert biome.When looking at the Parched, they will look like darker variants of a regular skeleton, with glowing eyes and dilapidated clothes like the zombie husk. Since they have a layer of cloth on their head, they will not burn in sunlight, identical to zombie husks.Parched attack methodsThe parched will attack players with bows and arrows with weakness effect (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)Similar to any other skeleton, the Parched will also attack players using bows and arrows after detecting them. Since this is a unique skeleton variant in the game, Mojang decided to give it arrows of weakness.Hence, the Parched can shoot infinite arrows of weakness towards players, making it difficult to melee attack with full strength.
