Milwaukee County Supervisor Deanna Alexander has introduced a set of bipartisan budget amendments for the 2026 fiscal year, focusing on transparency, accountability, and community investment. According to a Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors news release, Alexander is the primary sponsor of Amendments 12, 13, 17, and 18, and co-sponsor of Amendments 11, 14, 15, and 16. Amendments 15, 17, and 18 address improvements to Milwaukee County Parks by ensuring that revenues from dog parks, disc golf courses, and other activity-based services are reinvested into those facilities. The plan also includes $118,000 for parking improvements at Cooper Park to support community events and voter access. Additional proposals include measures to strengthen fiscal accountability and ethical governance. These reforms call for clearer budget reports separating tax levy funds from other revenue sources, a review of the county’s independent redistricting process, and the establishment of a County Board Code of Conduct. Amendment 11 focuses on staffing challenges within the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and Community Reintegration Center. It calls for a Staffing Stabilization Initiative Report to identify solutions for reducing overtime, improving recruitment, and enhancing working conditions. Alexander stated in the release that the proposed amendments are intended to improve government transparency, strengthen community services, and support public safety operations across Milwaukee County.
