Miles Teller, is that you? The Top Gun: Maverick star, 38, is nearly unrecognizable in the first photos from the set of the new Michael Jackson biopic, Michael. The actor donned a long wig and prosthetic nose for his role as John Branca, Jackson’s former attorney and manager, in the upcoming film. Fans were shocked after seeing Teller in the first trailer. “He looks so different!” one social media user wrote. “Miles Teller’s wig might be the most controversial part of this film,” another user added via X. “You only get so many opportunities in this business to make films. I’m really excited to be a part of it. I think it’s going to blow people away,” Teller told Variety in March 2024. “I think you just try to inundate yourself with as much information as you can.” He went on to explain that he was able to meet with Branca before filming began. “I’ve gotten to hang out with him a little bit. I mean, it’s really an incredible team involved,” he added. “I just like being a part of the team if you come from theater; I think the word ensemble means a lot.” Teller will star alongside Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, who is set to portray the “Thriller” artist. “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life,” Jaafar wrote via Instagram after news of his casting was announced. “To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.” Michael is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026.
