MIKEY SMITH: 8 unhinged Donald Trump moments as he threatens to invade Nigeria

For a man so obsessed with how things look, Donald Trump is very bad at optics. Between the two dozen photos of his newly refurbished guest polished marble toilet he posted on social media, the very talented women who danced around tables at his lavish Gatsby-themed Halloween Party or all the golf he'll play across the rest of the weekend, we're not sure which is the worst look while hundreds of thousands of Americans are about to lose their food assistance vouchers. Meanwhile in Trumpworld Here's everything you need to know... Donald Trump will appear on CBS' 60 Minutes on Sunday evening - marking his first return to the flagship current affairs programme since he sued it for $16 million over his nonsense claim the show had helpfully edited an interview with Kamala Harris. CBS settled the suit because they had business going before the FCC, and have since installed a new editor in chief for their division: Bari Weiss, a former conservative think tanker. Trump is slowly making his way through the hosts of Late Night comedy shows, trying his luck at unseating them. Stephen Colbert, host of CBS' The Late Show fell first - and despite still being on air until the end of his contract, those days are numbered. Last month saw Jimmy Kimmel briefly taken off ABC, before returning (with a helpful bump in ratings). And last night the subject of his ire is Seth Meyers, host of NBC's Late Night. Not a household name outside of the States, Meyers was head writer and a performer at Saturday Night Live for years before graduating to host the talk show in 2014. Trump has decided he doesn't like him. And also that Meyers is so mean to him on air that it might be illegal. "Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to "perform" live in the history of television. In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise," he said. After catching the late-night show for the first time in "years" the other night, Trump moaned that Meyers had "talked endlessly" ...about his weird complaints about electric catapults on aircraft carriers. In one of the least self-aware moments in internet history, Trump complained of Meyers: "On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic." He went on to say: "NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!" For clarity, it is not illegal to bang on about electric catapults for much longer than necessary, otherwise Trump would have been locked up long ago. Trump indicated on Truth Social that he had told "secretary of war" Pete Hegseth to be prepared to invade Nigeria. "If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria," he wrote. "...and may very well go into that disgraced country "guns-a-blazing" to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities." He said he'd told Hegseth to "prepare for action" - and said the Nigerian Government had "BETTER MOVE FAST". The warning came after Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier on Saturday pushed back on Trump announcing a day earlier that he was designating the West African country “a country of particular concern” for allegedly failing to rein in the persecution of Christians. In a social media statement on Saturday, Tinubu said that the characterization of Nigeria as a religiously intolerant country does not reflect the national reality. “Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so,” Tinubu said. “Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it. Nigeria is a country with constitutional guarantees to protect citizens of all faiths.” A troubling update from that 'Republicans only' briefing given to members of congress justifying the White House's deadly targeting of boats inn the seas surrounding Venezuela. Turns out the rationale for who gets targeted is even looser than feared. Officials said they reserved the right to kill people who are "affiliated" with a proscribed list of "narco-terror groups" without due process - which is a different thing from people being "members of" or "working for" said groups. There's topical costumes, and then there's constructing the entire White House complex, complete with half-demolished East Wing in the space of about a week. Bravo. Donald Trump hosted a wild, Gatsby-esque Halloween bash at Mar a Lago on Friday night. To give you an idea of the vibes, this lady reclining in a giant martini glass was part of the entertainment for the evening. Some 700,000 Americans are already starting to miss paycheques because of the shutdown, and within days the poorest of them will start to miss food assistance benefit payments through the SNAP programme. Meanwhile, Trump and his buddies - he sat next to Marco Rubio at the bash - dined on fine cuisine and booze, while women in revealing outfits danced for their amusement. Elsewhere, MAGA's costume game was definitely on point, if that point is to be as horrendous and racist as you possibly can. Take for example MAGA Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's effort. Classy.
