The Patriots have struggled to find their identity since Tom Brady left New England in 2020. Couple that with Bill Belichick departing the organization in 2024 and his replacement, Jerod Mayo, only lasting one season and it seemed New England was going in the wrong direction. Enter Mike Vrabel, who appears to have the Patriots back on track after a 5-2 start to the 2025 season. The Patriots underwent sweeping changes almost immediately. While some moves had fans questioning the new coach, players bought in quickly and understood where Vrabel wanted to take the team. So, how was Vrabel able to change the culture so quickly? “Just try to be authentic. Try to be real, try to support people and help them do their jobs,“ the Patriots coach said Monday on WEEI. ”Hire good people, knowledgeable people. Make connections with the players, make connections with the people in the building. and that’s just what we’re trying to do. And winning. That brings morale up.” The Patriots earned their fourth straight win with a 31-13 victory over Vrabel’s former Tennessee Titans team in Week 7. They took over first place in the AFC East standings last week after a Buffalo Bills loss to the Atlanta Falcons. There’s still plenty of football left to be played. But Vrabel looks to have his players completely bought in to what he wants to build in New England.
