Middle Eastern coffee shop to open second location, expanding to Camillus

Camillus, N.Y. — After opening their first location in North Syracuse in August, Zaman Coffee House is expanding. The family-run café known for its pistachio lattes, Turkish coffee and Middle Eastern-inspired hospitality plans to open second location in Township 5 in Camillus in early 2026, according to a social media post by Township 5. The Almaliti brothers, Anas, Musa, Saddam and Mohammed, launched Zaman Coffee House at Sweetheart Corner, a spot that had previously defeated big names like Starbucks, Tim Hortons and Café Kubal. But their vision of creating a slower, more intentional coffee experience has quickly found a loyal following. “We wanted to offer something completely different, an experience you’d have to fly to the Middle East to get,” said co-owner Musa Almaliti. That experience includes Yemeni coffee beans, ceremonial-grade matcha and Turkish coffee brewed twice and served strong. The name “Zaman,” meaning “time” in Arabic and over two dozen other languages, reflects the café’s philosophy: to slow down and savor each cup. At the North Syracuse shop, customers travel from as far as Oswego for signature drinks like the pistachio latte and the towering pistachio cream cake. The café has gained a reputation not just for its rich flavors but also its hospitality. Now, they’re bringing that same energy to the western suburbs. Township 5 announced this week that Zaman Coffee House will join its growing mix of locally owned and specialty tenants. “Zaman Coffee House at Township 5 will be more than a place to just grab a drink, but a place to gather, share stories and experience flavors,” Township 5 said in a Facebook post. Construction on the new café is underway, with an opening expected in early 2026. Township 5 is a mixed-use development on Route 5, between Hinsdale and Bennett roads. It features medical offices, stores, restaurants, businesses and apartments.
