Users of Microsoft Azure on Wednesday reported disruptions, particularly around the Azure Portal and services in East US. The official Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) had no direct involvement - this is a cloud-service issue. Outage tracker Downdetector recorded more than 8000 reports, as users complained of disruptions across Microsoft’s core productivity platforms. The official Azure Support account tweeted, "We’re investigating an issue impacting Azure Front Door services. Customers may experience intermittent request failures or latency. Updates will be provided shortly." The Azure status page for a global outage shows “There are currently no active events.” What's Behind Microsoft Azure Outage? According to Downdetector, Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform suffered a significant outage affecting over 11,500 users, with disruptions spreading across key services such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Word and Excel, leaving many unable to access essential tools worldwide. A Reuters report noted that Microsoft 365 experienced nearly 9,000 outage complaints, while Azure logged more than 16,600 user reports during the incident.
