Office users with Microsoft 365 Subscribe can be prepared outside of Europe that the Copilot app will soon end up on your PC automatically. Anyone who uses the client apps of the Office subscription gets the Microsoft 365 Copilot app installed.
Installation everywhere, just not in Europe
The Microsoft 365 Copilot app integrates the AI assistant from Microsoft at the other apps that are part of the subscription-based office suite, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. There are also AI agents and notebooks that should make life easier for the office users.
The automatic installation of the Microsoft 365 copilot app is loud Bleeping computer also in companies. Microsoft has therefore instructed its customers to inform their support teams and users in advance. This wants to avoid confusion and thus an increased adventure of support requests from surprised users.
Roll-out from October to mid-November
The rolling out of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app for all subscribers from Microsoft’s Office package is to begin from the beginning of October and will be completed by mid-November. There is a decisive restriction for us in Germany. The automated installation for 365 customers is only carried out outside the European Economic Zone (European Economic Area, EEA). As Microsoft has recently announced in the Message Center for 365, the Copilot app offers a central entry point in “AI skills and copilot applications across all parts of Microsoft 365”.
Access is made easier with the app, since the users have the AI functions easily and quickly available. The Microsoft 365 Copilot app ends up in the start menu and is activated at the factory. Administrators can simply deactivate the installation of the Copilot app via their admin center on request. Microsoft has been trying to create entry points for the use of AI tools such as Copilot in his products for some time. Among other things, Copilot agents will soon also become part of the sidebar of Microsoft Edge.
