Michigan Church Shooting: Are Attacks on Religious Institutions on the Rise in US?

A man rammed his vehicle into a church in Michigan on Sunday before opening fire on the congregation, killing at least two people and wounding at least eight others, authorities said. Officials believe the suspect also set fire to the church before dying in an exchange of gunfire with responding officers. Hours later, US President Donald Trump described the incident as “another deliberate attack on Christians” and said the FBI would lead the federal investigation while assisting state and local authorities. The deadly attack in Michigan is the latest in a series of violent incidents targeting religious institutions across the United States.
