Michael McIntyre has confessed to using a hilariously passive-aggressive tactic to get back at his noisy neighbours. The 49-year-old comic, who owns a £10million home in the north London area of Hampstead, revealed that some of his neighbours had been disrupting his peace by blasting loud music. Rather than confronting them directly, Michael decided to try a more subtle method to get his peace and quiet. While speaking to fans during a warm-up gig at Soho Theatre ahead of his upcoming Hello America! tour, the Michael McIntyre's Big Show star admitted: “I have had a little thing with them [neighbours] already when they played very loud music in the garden and I did not want to complain. I played the same song they were playing at a slightly different time just to f*** them off. It is a good idea.” Michael added: “This is what British people do. They will try to deal with s*** without confrontation.” The revelation was met with laughter from the audience. Last week Michael revealed he started taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro after being told by doctors that his 15st 10lbs frame put him in the “obese” category. During one of his London shows, he explained: “Have you noticed how tiny I am? I have lost weight. Don't applaud it because there is a little bit of cheating that has gone on. The doctor told me I weighed 100kg. He told me I was ‘obese’. How rude. He said, ‘It's a medical term.’” After some encouragement from his wife, Kitty, the comedian began using Mounjaro — a food suppressant originally developed for people with diabetes. The drug, which is medically known as tirzepatide, helps regulate blood sugar levels and increases feelings of fullness. Michael said he started seeing results within just three weeks, much to his delight. His need to slim down reportedly stemmed from his habit of eating the leftovers his wife and their two sons, Lucas and Oscar, refused to finish. This isn't Michael's first attempt at tackling his weight. In 2017, he spent around £4,000 a week at the Mayr Clinic in Austria, where guests follow a strict detox programme. However, the experience wasn’t entirely positive. “I lost a stone – we were only there six days. I was so emotional, depressed and confused,” he recalled on Jessie Ware's Table Manners podcast. “Paul [Tomkinson, his friend] nearly died on a hike.” He also shared that he was bizarrely warned not to eat apples, telling The Sun: “I went to this place called the Mayr Clinic and lost quite a bit of weight, which I kept off for a little while. “It was a week of pain and they did all these tests on me, put little probes on the end of my tongue and told me I shouldn't eat apples. Apparently apples will make me very lethargic and confused in my brain. It's the only thing I've taken from it, really.” Like this story?
