Micah Parsons Blasts Polarizing Analyst for Critical Remarks After Packers-Eagles

The Green Bay Packers fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in a defensive slugfest on Monday night 10-7, losing their second straight game and dropping to 5-3-1 this season and trailing the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. Packers newcomer Micah Parsons recorded just one tackle during the contest but played a key role in Green Bay’s run defense, holding Eagles running back Saquon Barkley to just 60 yards on 22 carries. However, according to Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd — one of the more polarizing voices in sports media — there are areas of Parsons’ game that can be exposed when the offense isn’t performing and the defense is forced to play reactively. “If you noticed this last night with Micah Parsons, he didn’t have a sack, he didn’t have a quarterback hit — let me check the stats… oh, it’s the second straight game!” Cowherd said. “Remember when the Cowboys traded him? "The reaction was completely over the top… but there was this one singular voice in the American sports landscape, just a tiny, humble voice, from a tiny, humble man — me! — who said, I get it. I get it. I’ve seen Micah get engulfed by good left tackles. What are his playoff numbers? There’s a way to go at Micah, yeah, remember that? “Micah’s rep has always been that he is a splash player. He’s not great against the run… Myles Garrett is elite at both — that’s not Micah. Micah is a great athlete and a heat-seeking missile. He’s great to have in Green Bay when they’re leading games in the fourth quarter, but when they aren’t and the offense dries up, he’s not very good against the run.” More NFL: Brian Daboll Spotted Wearing Notable College Team’s Apparel After Giants Firing More NFL: Bengals’ Joe Burrow Speaks Out on Joe Flacco After Returning to Practice Parsons didn’t let Cowherd’s take slide. On Tuesday, he called him out by retweeting the commentary with a strong statement of his own. "We just held Saquon Barkley to 60 rushing yards, and our only losses have been holding teams to 13 points!" Parsons said. "Man, sometimes can y’all? Please stfu and enjoy great defense! Why do you think teams come into the games that were going to run the ball on 3rd and long? What effect do you think that is? Please stop giving people’s mics or listening to trash!" Parsons was traded from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason in exchange for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark, following a rocky breakup with Dallas and owner Jerry Jones, who made a statement similar to Cowherd’s back in September after the trade. Nonetheless, Parsons is already in his fifth year, a four-time Pro Bowler, and has tallied 12 or more sacks in every season of his NFL career, cementing himself as one of the league’s elite pass rushers.
