Meri Brown Reveals That She ‘Really, Really’ Likes the Person She’s Becoming After Her Spiritual Divorce
Sister Wives season 20 is set to premiere on September 28. While it doesn’t feel like a lot of time has passed since we last connected with the Brown family, plenty of things have actually changed. During the hiatus, Kody Brown’s three ex-wives have been busy building their own lives and their own empires. While on Hiatus from Sister Wives, Meri Brown launched a self-improvement company. Christine Brown published a memoir, and Janelle Brown decided to give the cut flower business a go with her daughter, Madison Brush. Meri has devoted a significant amount of her time to personal growth. She recently emphasized that it has paid off in many ways. She revealed that she likes who she’s becoming. Even her most ardent critics admit she is markedly different from who she was during the show’s early seasons.
Meri Brown likes who she is becoming
Meri Brown spent many years of her life in an unhappy marriage, being controlled and strung along by Kody Brown. Two of her three former sister wives were subjected to much of the same treatment. All three women have since moved on, and all three seem happier than they ever were with Kody Brown. During an appearance on I Do, Part 2, Meri opened up about everything that has changed in her life since being granted a spiritual divorce from Kody.
Since leaving the marriage behind, Meri has been hard at work on her businesses and on herself. She said that a lot has changed for her personally. The mother of one alleges that she feels like she’s in a better, more stable place now. Meri Brown, who often seemed down on herself and sad during earlier seasons of Sister Wives, says that she really, really likes who she’s becoming. She did note that she needed to walk through all of the tribulations of her marriage to get to where she is, though. For that reason, she insists she doesn’t have any regrets.
Getting there meant she had to cut people out, though
Meri likes who she has become; fans largely agree. All of the positive changes, however, didn’t come without some hard moments. To achieve a state of peace, it appears Meri has had to remove certain people from her life. Some of those people are likely to stay out of her life forever. While there appears to be a bit of sadness about that, Meri seems to accept those changes.
When it comes to her relationship with Kody Brown, little has changed. Meri has admitted that while she and Kody Brown rarely speak, their relationship remains a bit of a rollercoaster. Kody has expressed interest in forming a friendship, even calling her his “favorite ex-wife” at one point, but it seems those feelings are more fluid than one might think. Meri also has limited engagement with Robyn Brown, despite being the only sister wife who seemed genuinely interested in bonding with Kody’s only remaining wife.
During her podcast appearance, she also opened up about her relationship, or lack thereof, with Christine Brown. She admitted that it’s not “safe” for her to interact with Christine at this point. She revealed that there is no “hate” on her part, but she knows her values don’t align with Christine’s. Meri appeared slightly more open and positive about the potential of forging a friendship with Janelle Brown, but admits their interactions have been pretty limited.
It remains unclear just how many face-to-face moments we will see the family have in the upcoming season. With them now spread across several states, it seems unlikely that they’ll be getting together all that often.
