Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU), Chennai, has launched a comprehensive men’s health awareness programme to address the growing burden of male infertility, sexual health issues, and lifestyle-related urological disorders. According to a press release, the initiative has been launched this month, as November is dedicated to men’s health awareness. It aims at encouraging men to prioritise their reproductive and sexual health, promote early screening, and foster open conversations around conditions often overlooked due to social stigma. The wellness programme at the hospital includes: a consultation with an andrologist, hormone profiling (Testosterone, TSH), diabetes and metabolic screening (HbA1C, Lipid Profile), a scrotal ultrasound screening and semen analysis for fertility screening. Sanjay Prakash J., clinical lead – AINU, andrology, said men’s health continued to be an under-discussed area, and raising awareness in order to make early interventions accessible was crucial, as per the press release.
