CopperFlex Memory Foam vs CopperFlex Pro Hybrid Mattress: Price Brooklyn Bedding launched the CopperFlex line to bring sleepers a luxury feel at a budget friendly price point, and both these mattress do exactly that. The standard CopperFlex Memory Foam is the budget-friendly, entry-level option, while the Pro Hybrid at the top of the range offers a more luxurious feel. Brooklyn Bedding mattress sales run frequently and their Black Friday deals are just heating up. Right now, there's 30% off sitewide taking the CopperFlex Memory Foam to $465.50 and the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid to $932.40 in queen sizes. We may see an extra 2% off as we nudge closer to Black Friday itself, which is something we've seen during previous Brooklyn Bedding sales. But if you're looking to buy now, rest assured that you're getting outstanding value on both these mattresses. And if the extra saving does appear, it will only be marginal. With a price difference of $467 for a queen, the Pro Hybrid is essentially an upgrade on the CopperFlex Memory Foam, with a premium construction that rivals even some of the best mattresses we've tested. But let's look at the entry-level model first. The all-foam CopperFlex is built with copper-infused foam, quilt foam, comfort foam, transition foam and high-density support foam — yes, that's a whole lot of foams. Honestly, this bed gives a strange sensation when you get on it that can best be described as a 'flump'. I've sat and laid on some of the best memory foam mattresses, but never one that's felt like this. My fellow testers (Sleep Features Editor Lauren Jeffries and seasoned mattress reviewer Alison Barretta) agree this bed feels on the firmer side of medium-firm (around 8 on the mattress firmness scale) and is most comfortable when lying on your back. In this position, you can feel the upper layers of foam contouring and lifting your lower spine (that will be the zoned lumbar support, a feature more commonly found in the best mattresses for back pain). While side sleeping feels comfortable enough, it does take a while for the foams to properly contour to your body, mainly around your hips, says Alison. Sleeping position aside, couples will be pleased with how well this mattress isolates motion across the surface of the bed, thanks to its dense foam construction. I laid on the bed while Lauren tossed and turned next to me and I could hardly feel her movements. Meanwhile, the Pro Hybrid is slightly softer (we give it a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale) and it has a 8" layer of pocket coils providing a more responsive, bouncier support core and a cooling GlacioTex cover. After sleeping on this mattress for three months, we rate it as one of the best hybrid mattresses you can buy, thanks to its quality construction, cooling prowess, overall comfort and excellent value for money. Aside from overall sleep feel, the mattress covers are what really set these mattresses apart. The white GlacioTex cover on the Pro Hybrid is noticeably much cooler-to-the-touch than the polyester blend cover on the memory foam model. But what does it feel like to lie on? I'm an average-weight combination sleeper who switches position throughout the night. Therefore, I need a bed that essentially does it all. It must provide a solid balance of cushioning and support for every sleep position without trapping me in the 'hug' of memory foam. Plus, it needs to be cool enough to ensure I don't end up overheating. During the three month testing period that I slept on it I'm pleased to report that the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid did a fine job of accommodating all these sleep needs. I never struggled to switch position and felt well supported and cushioned on my side, front and back during my spell on this hybrid mattress. But where it really impressed me was how cool it felt when I laid on it (when dressed with breathable cotton sheets, of course). I slept cool on this mattress in a heat-trapping attic bedroom during an unseasonably hot spring. I didn't find myself running hot at night as I used to on the standard spring mattress I slept on before the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid — it was a real upgrade for my sleep quality (bravo, copper-infused foams and GlacioTex). CopperFlex Memory Foam vs CopperFlex Pro Hybrid: Which should you buy this Black Friday? Both built with heat conducting copper foams, the CopperFlex Memory Foam mattress and CopperFlex Pro Hybrid are both great affordable options for hot sleepers. Ultimately, deciding which to buy comes down to your budget and sleep position. If money was no object, I'd say shop the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid over the standard CopperFlex Memory Foam. At 14" tall, the former feels more luxurious (despite costing less than $1,000 for a queen), offers better cooling and supports more sleep positions. But if you want an ultra-affordable, all-foam bed with specialist cooling technology, the CopperFlex Memory Foam won't disappoint. At just $465.50 for a queen size now, you'll struggle to find better value for money elsewhere. Dedicated back sleepers should especially consider saving their bucks and shopping the CopperFlex Memory Foam, as our testing showed this bed is incredibly comfortable in this position. Otherwise, side sleepers and combination sleepers with a healthy budget would benefit from upgrading to the Pro Hybrid.
