Melissa Peterman Reveals Which Iconic 'Reba' Guest Stars She Wants on ‘Happy’s Place’

Key Points Melissa Peterman wants former Reba guest stars, including Dolly Parton and Kelly Clarkson, on Happy's Place. Several Reba cast members and guest stars already appeared on Happy's Place's first season. Season 2 features JoAnna Garcia Swisher as an influencer, with new episodes airing Fridays on NBC. Happy’s Place reunited Reba co-stars Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman, and the latter revealed which guest stars from their previous show she she wants to see on the NBC sitcom. When asked about potential guest stars for the show, Peterman, 54, told Us Weekly, “I think those are the next steps.” She continued, “I would love to get all of them in. It’s a bar so people come and go. That could be very fun.” While nothing is set in stone, Peterman said she loves “the idea of getting those big, iconic guest stars” like they had on Reba. “We had Dolly [Parton], we had James Denton and Patrick Fabian,” the Baby Daddy alum listed. “We’ve had so many great guest stars on the show. That would be really fun. Plus Kelly Clarkson, please. That would be such a fun list to go down.” Peterman and McEntire, 70, starred on Reba alongside Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Steve Howey, which aired from 2001 to 2007. The show followed a single mom, Reba (McEntire), on her journey to start over after her husband left her for another woman. In addition to seeking a fresh start, Reba also had to balance being the mother of three while her teen daughter (Garcia Swisher) was pregnant. Nearly two decades after Reba ended, McEntire and Peterman reunited with former Reba executive producer Kevin Abbott to work on Happy’s Place. The show follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and becomes business partners with her long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo). Peterman made her debut in season 1 as bartender Gabby. Meanwhile, Howey, 48, made a guest appearance on Happy’s Place as Gabby’s rich friend. Rich, 72, also appeared on the new show while playing a tattoo artist on the first season. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Fans of Reba will get to see even more familiar faces on season 2 of Happy’s Place, including a guest appearance from Garcia Swisher, 46. “JoAnna was a dream to work with. She plays an influencer and Gabby wants to know all about being an influencer so she’s going to help with the commercial for the tavern because I can’t cut it,” McEntire told Us Weekly about the upcoming guest appearance. “It’s just hysterical. That was one of the episodes that was totally fun.”
