VOTING! You know what’s even cooler? Voting for someone I know has integrity,” Gilbert, 61, began her update. “Someone I know has compassion. Someone I know who’s wise. Today I had the pleasure of voting for my dear friend @johnnybanger.” Gilbert continued of Town of Highland Supervisor John Pizzolato, “He’s running to be re-elected as town supervisor. He’s also running with a slate of bi-partisan candidates. They stand as an example of people from different parts of the political spectrum, actually working together to make our town a better place.” She concluded her post—which featured a picture of herself with an “I Voted” sticker on her forehead as her dog licked her cheek—by sharing, “Oh how [I] wish the rest of the country would follow their lead. One Instagram user declared, “Go Johnny!” A second simply shared, “Yes.” However, a different fan wrote, “Be like Charlie [Kirk]!!! Talk and be civil otherwise we are done!” Gilbert is not one to shy away from weighing in on politics and other controversial topics. Recently, she spoke out about the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as well as slammed the “disgusting” treatment of New York City carriage horses, and issued a bold message about something fans said “should be written on our flag.”
