Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi may soon be extradited to India after the Antwerp court in Belgium has approved Choksis extradition. The court stated that he will receive a fair trial and adequate prison facilities in India. The path now appears clear for Choksi wanted in the Rs 13000 crore PNB scam. The courts decision also acknowledged that Mehul Choksi is not a Belgian citizen but a foreign national. He faces serious charges of fraud criminal conspiracy and corruption in India. The court dismissed allegations of his kidnapping and torture as baseless. The question now is where will Mehul Choksi be held after his return to India? Indian agencies presented photographs and a presentation of the facilities at Mumbais Arthur Road Jail to the Belgian court assuring the court that he would be held under humane conditions. Exclusive photos show that Arthur Road Jail has created a separate security zone for high-profile inmates like Mehul Choksi. It features CCTV surveillance security guards and restricted movement zones. His cell is equipped with a bed a washroom and a ventilation system. An affidavit filed by Indian agencies in court stated that these photographs of the prison were released by Indian agencies. These photographs show how the prison has a clean environment adequate lighting and basic facilities. Mehul Choksi will be questioned by the CBI and the ED upon his return to India. According to officials he will be held in a separate block of Arthur Road Jail where previously accused Nirav Modi and others were held. The prison administration has designated this cell as a completely high-security zone. The photos that have surfaced clearly show that India has ensured prison facilities that meet international standards. Now Choksi is awaited for his arrival in India. He may soon be brought to India and presented in court where the next story of justice will begin.
