Born and raised in Delhi Karan Goel completed his schooling at the Delhi Public School (DPS) RK Puram and then earned a dual degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2016 and a Master’s in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. Later Karan Goel completed a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University. According to his LinkedIn profile Karan worked as a Machine Learning Researcher at Salesforce AI Research a research scientist at Snorkel AI and was selected for the Greylock X Fellowship where he learned about entrepreneurship and the VC industry. In 2023 Karan Goel launched his own AI startup Cartesia and is today viewed among the most promising Indian-origin founders in AI industry dominated by big tech like Google Amazon OpenAI and Meta to name a few. How Karan Goel raised $100 million for his startup? Recently Karan Goel created major buzz in AI space after his US-based startup Cartesia raised a $100 million from top investors including Kleiner Perkins Index Ventures Lightspeed and NVIDIA. Additionally Cartesia has made a major breakthrough in real-time voice technology with the launch of its new voice model Sonic-3 Goel announced on X. What is Cartesias Sonic-3?
