MCDAN GROUP CHAIRMAN STRENGTHENS TIES WITH ZONGO COMMUNITY DURING VISIT TO KUMASI.

The Executive Chairman of McDan Group of Companies, Dr Daniel McKorley reaffirmed his commitment to community development and social impact when he paid a heartfelt visit to the Kumasi Zongo Community during his visit to the city. Dr McKorley, who was in Kumasi for his McDan Youth Connect event, made a stop at the Zongo community where he was warmly welcomed into the palace and met the Chief, the Elders and the various Zongo Leaders. His visit was met with deep appreciation and enthusiasm from the community. In his address, Dr McKorley reflected on his personal connection with the Zongo Community, citing that he spent his early years on the Zongo streets of Labadi in Accra. He emphasised that his rise to success has never distanced him from his roots and that his definition of true success is not measured by wealth but by impact, stating, “I don’t want to be remembered for the money I made, I want to be remembered for the impact I made” This commitment has been made evident through the McDan Foundation, which has so far constructed 10 schools in the Zongo Community. The foundation continues to provide interest-free loans to women in the community and awards scholarships to the community’s youth to help them pursue their educational and career goals. The Zongo Chief expressed profound gratitude for Dr McKorley’s visit and philanthropy, acknowledging his ongoing contributions to their community’s development. He prayed that “everything Dr McKorley wishes for will come to pass” and affirmed that the community has fully embraced him as one of their own. Dr. Daniel McKorley’s visit to the Kumasi Zongo Community reaffirmed his lifelong dedication to uplifting underserved communities and nurturing the next generation of change makers. Through the McDan Foundation’s consistent investments in education, women’s empowerment, and youth development, his actions continue to bridge opportunity gaps and strengthen community resilience. His deep connection to his roots and unwavering commitment to impact over wealth serve as a powerful reminder that true leadership is measured not by success alone, but by the lives one transforms along the way.
