Warning! This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Mayor of Kingstown season 4, episode 3. The tension in Kingstown is rapidly heating up as gangs come into conflict in Mayor of Kingstown season 4, episode 3. After the shock ending of episode 2, with Carney being murdered in his home, episode 3 sees the fallout from this event, as well as the developing feuds between gangs. Unfortunately, things aren't much better on the side of law enforcement with conflict happening across the board, and Mike McLusky struggling to maintain a grip on the city. But things are bound to get worse before they can get better in Mayor of Kingstown. Carney’s Death Echoes Throughout The Prison & Kingstown Carney's death caused quite a stir across Kingstown, largely because it means something bigger is afoot. Generally, Mike doesn't have trouble with keeping his people safe, but the ruthless method of killing Carney in his home, while his father is sitting in the other room, shows that things are changing. Inside the prison, the new warden and her deputy brief everyone on Carney's passing, but there isn't a lot of emotion being shown from management. Meanwhile, Mike pushes Ian and Stevie of the Kingstown Police Department to find out exactly who was behind the hit. Frank Moses Gives Bunny A Personal Tour Of His Operation After forming a partnership with old school mob boss Frank Moses, Bunny is given a guided tour of Moses' operation. Bunny is enthusiastic to see how well laid out Frank's operation is, and he is keen to learn more to hopefully move his life in a similar direction towards safety and freedom. However, while the pair swap secrets, Bunny receives several reports of trouble in his hood. Clearly, Bunny wants to make a good impression on his new partner, but when things escalate beyond his control, it's time for Bunny to accept some help. The Cartel Make Moves Against Bunny’s Gang Initially, Bunny was told that some of his younger gang members had left their posts earlier in the day. Believing that these immature gangsters were simply disobeying orders, Bunny was preparing to scare them straight. However, when a bag full of body parts shows up in his neighborhood, it's clear that something bigger is going on. When it is confirmed that the cartel was responsible for murdering Bunny's young men, severing their limbs, and then leaving them in a bag out in the open, Bunny is understandably enraged. And his new business partner sees in this an opportunity to prove his loyalty by dealing with the cartel for Bunny. Kyle McLusky Gets More Friendly With Callahan In Prison Inside Anchor Bay, Kyle appears to be slowly healing, but the wounds he sustained upon arriving at the prison are taking their toll. Kyle decides to take the drugs that he was given by Callahan, hoping to relieve his pain, but this simple act also indicates a shift in the character and his relationship with Callahan. Now that Kyle has accepted the gift, he is on a path to being in debt, and owing Callahan for his kindness. And the fact that Kyle actually starts conversations with Callahan in this episode is a small indication of that change already beginning to take effect. The Deputy Warden Continues To Raise Suspicions As Ian and Stevie went about their investigation into Carney's death, they made a stop at the prison to check out his locker and search for clues. While there, they had some odd interactions with Deputy Warden Torres as he seemed to take an extreme interest in their investigation and ask too many questions. This led to Mike theorizing that Torres may be involved, and considering his odd behavior between this episode and the previous one where he spoke with Roberto Cruz shortly before the Cartel killed Carney, it seems likely that he is involved. But the bigger question is how much, if at all, the warden is aware of her deputy's corruption. Evelyn & Robert Have A Public Blowout Robert Sawyer may be benched from active duty after his altercation with Kyle on the bridge in the previous season, but he has had a target on his head for a while due to his use of excessive force and brutality in the line of duty. Evelyn, the Assistant DA, has been trying to build a case against him, but continues to be blocked at every turn. And when Robert shows up at the courthouse trying to find a way to get back to active duty, he runs into Evelyn. Right there, in front of dozens of witnesses, the two have a shouting match, and Evelyn lays out her issues with Robert in a way that makes him incredibly angry. Frank Moses Strikes The Cartel, But They Hit Back Finally, as the episode comes to a close, we see Frank's men arrive at a Cartel safehouse where they are washing blood from a bath and a saw, which appears to confirm that they were responsible for the hit on Bunny's men. With incredible force and efficiency, a few of Frank's men cause a lot of damage. However, the young Colombian man that was detained by Ian in a previous episode, the same one responsible for killing Carney, manages to lead many of his men to safety before eliminating Frank's men. Clearly, this kid has skills that will require more than a small hit squad to deal with.
