Maxx Crosby Makes Raiders Stance Clear Amid Trade Rumors

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has been the subject of rather surprising trade speculation in recent weeks, which was made even more jarring by the fact that he signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Raiders back in March. Las Vegas is just 2-5 on the season and has not shown any signs of progression during Pete Carroll’s debut campaign as head coach, so perhaps things have changed between Crosby and the franchise regarding the future. Crosby was asked about the situation during a recent appearance on the “Let’s Go!” podcast with Jim Gray, and he made it very clear that he isn’t even thinking about potentially moving. TAMPA, FLORIDA – DECEMBER 8: Maxx Crosby #98 of the Las Vegas Raiders reacts after a play during the second half of an NFL football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on December 8, 2024 in Tampa, Florida. “I really try to block out all the noise,” Crosby said. “Rumors and things of that nature, I can’t control. It’s just a waste of time and energy when it comes to that. Walking through the facility and seeing it all over the TVs with teammates around, it’s awkward —stuff like that. I’m focused on now, where my feet are, and on winning. That’s all I want to do — win and get this team to where we need to be.” The 28-year-old was originally selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career with the organization, establishing himself as one of the best pass rushers in football. Crosby has earned four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and has posted three double-digit sack campaigns, topping out at 14.5 sacks back in 2023. He also racked up 30 or more quarterback hits three years in a row between 2021 and 2023. Last year, the Eastern Michigan product was limited to 12 games due to injuries, but he still managed to register 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks. It will be interesting to see what the Raiders decide to do if a team comes along and offers a massive trade package for Crosby.
