A major fire broke out at a warehouse inside the Indian Container Corporation Depot (ICD) on Goods Shed Road in Moosapet on Saturday (October 25), destroying imported stocks and other goods. According to an officer from the fire control, they received a distress call at 8.38 a.m., following which eight fire tenders and a firefighting robot were deployed to the scene. Flames quickly spread through the warehouse, which contained large quantities of liquor and assorted materials. An officer from the Kukatpally Fire Station said the fire is suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit, though the exact cause is under investigation. “Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly four hours before bringing it under control,” said the officer. He added that a detailed assessment of the loss is under way, but preliminary estimates suggest extensive damage. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident.
