Marseille player Bilal Nadir collapsed during their Ligue 1 match against Angers on Wednesday night. The French club have now released a "reassuring" medical statement, confirming that the player "did not lose consciousness at the time of the incident". They add that "all of his vital signs were found to be normal" following attention by medical staff and the emergency services. Nadir then went to the hospital for a "full medical check-up", with his condition said to be good, although the player "remains under observation while this assessment continues". The full medical statement that Marseille released on Thursday, translated from French into English, reads: "Olympique de Marseille wishes to give reassuring news regarding Bilal Nadir, who suffered a health scare yesterday during the match against SCO Angers. The player did not lose consciousness at the time of the incident. Upon being attended to by the club's medical staff and the emergency services present at the scene, all of his vital signs were found to be normal. "As a precaution, Bilal Nadir was transferred to the hospital for a full medical check-up. His condition is good, and he remains under observation while this assessment continues. "The club thanks the medical teams for their responsiveness, as well as the many fans for their messages of support. Further information will be provided as the situation develops."
