Mary Fowler has dazzled fans in making her historic Paris Fashion Week runway debut on Tuesday morning.
The Matildas star became the first footballer on the planet to walk the iconic Le Defile L’Oreal runway as the cosmetics giant revealed its Spring collections.
Fowler took centre stage on the historic Hôtel de Ville catwalk, strutting her stuff in front of the biggest names in fashion — and a global streaming audience.
The Aussie treasure proudly joined the likes of Kendall Jenner, Heidi Klum, Cara Delevingne and Helen Mirren as L’Oreal showcased its “Liberty. Equality. Sisterhood. Because You’re Worth It” campaign.
The 22-year-old proved all her doubters wrong as she bounced down the strip oozing grace and confidence.

Her appearance was exactly what L’Oreal Paris was looking for when the fragrance goliath made a move to sign the Manchester City star as its Australian ambassador.
Fowler has always dazzled on the football field with her speed and ballerina-like athleticism, but she was still almost unrecognisable when she stepped out onto the stage in a flowing, one-sleeve, black gown.
Fowler effortlessly pulled off the daring look, which included a plunging neck line and an elegant split seam between her legs.

Mary Fowler steps out for Paris Fashion Week
Mary Fowler was enjoyed Paris Fashion Week.
The figure-flattering threads have attracted plenty of interest on social media with features including an eye-catching solo lapel, buttoned midriff and side pockets.
Fowler complemented the look with black laced stilettos, bold ochre lipstick and what can only be described as an explosion of trademark curls.
The 2024 Paris Olympian is best known for her tied-back ponytail look, but she let her hair run wild on Tuesday morning.
Her appearance was completed when she made a cheeky gesture of briefly pushing up her flowing locks and looking down the barrel of a TV camera with a warm smile.
She looked every bit like somebody who deserved to be gracing the runway when she blew a kiss to the crowd of more than 2500 guests.

None of them would have thought Fowler was a fish out of water.
A few hours before her fashion debut, Fowler posted on Instagram images of a hotel room and the Eiffel Tower, with the words “Paris — excited for tomorrow”.
Fowler was signed up by L’Oreal Paris in March, 2024, in the months leading into the 2024 Olympics at the Fashion Capital.
She has previously said she had mixed feelings about taking such a giant leap into the fashion world — but it seems she had nothing to worry about.

“Honestly I never imagined I’d be walking any runway, let alone one for L’Oreal that’s in Paris of all places,’’ Fowler told Code Sports.
I’m going to be the first professional footballer to walk this runway and the first Australian ambassador which is mind-blowing to me, but it also feels so empowering. I’m incredibly proud to represent women in sport, and to get an opportunity to encourage young girls to dream big because they don’t have to be just one thing.
“I am a little nervous, but I’m not pressuring myself to be perfect out there because to me walking in Le Defile is a chance to show that showing up as yourself will always be beautiful.’’
She said the role is particularly close to her heart because she wants to show girls of similar backgrounds to her own that they are “enough” exactly how they are.
Celebrities included US actress Andie Macdowell, US model Kendall Jenner, French model Cindy Bruna and US actress Eva Longoria – all pictured celebrating on stage after presenting creations for L’Oreal Paris show “Liberte, Egalite, Sororite” (Liberty, Equality, Sisterhood), as part of the Paris Fashion Week Women Ready-to-wear Spring-Summer 2026 collection at the Hotel de Ville, in Paris on September 29, 2025. “I’ve gotten more passionate about beauty and makeup as I’ve grown older because I’ve seen how closely linked feeling beautiful in your own skin is to someone’s level of self worth,” she said.
“Which makes my partnership with L’Oreal Paris, and this opportunity in Paris at Le Defile even more special, because I want to show little girls who look like me or come from similar backgrounds that they’re enough just the way they are.’’
Fowler last year became the face of L’Oreal Paris across Australia and New Zealand, joining the likes of Cody Simpson, Jessica Mauboy and Maria Thattil, who have fronted the brand previously.
She announced the new role by sharing images of herself posing in front of the camera holding a football emblazoned with the slogan ‘I’m Worth It’.
The beauty brand’s tagline is, ‘Because You’re Worth It’.

“I think being ‘worth it’ to me is, on a personal level, being able to look at the opportunities that I get and feel that I’m deserving of them,” Fowler said at the time.
“Since I was young I’ve always loved dressing up, whether it was with clothing or trying to use makeup, I think I’ve just always liked to express myself in that way.
“Confidence, to me, is believing in yourself. It’s not thinking that you have to be perfect in the way that you look or in your abilities or the way that you do your work – you’re not going to be able to do everything perfect – and it’s accepting that there’s beauty in just being you.”
