Marvel Rivals has just announced a summer skin for Frank Castle’s merciless mercenary The Punisher for season four – and it’s a tiny, tiny speedo.
When one thinks of the Marvel character Frank Castle, known more often by his violence-inducing moniker The Punisher, and most famed for beating the living daylights out of villains (and sometimes heroes) across the publisher’s comic book history, they probably don’t think of the character in a tiny thong swimwear with a skull on the front.
Well, the same clearly can’t be said for the developers of NetEase third person shooter Marvel Rivals, because they’ve just immortalised The Punisher’s infamous 1994 swimsuit special costume look to kick off season four.
The swimsuit first appeared in Marvel Swimsuit Special #2, but has been brought to Marvel Rivals as The Aqua Arsenal Punisher costume, due to be released 18 September.

“Let the deep blue sea wash away the pain as The Aqua Arsenal Punisher costume, making its debut appearance in Marvel Rivals Season 4!” the announcement reads, posted to the game’s social media accounts.
“Need that,” wrote one fan underneath The Punisher in his new skin, which has modified the original look slightly, and now features flip flops, a beach wrap and a water gun in place of the character’s usual heavy artillery.
Another added: “We will be buying.”
“Guess I’m a punisher main now for no specific reason,” a third joked.
Marvel Rivals, which previously gave a host of its male characters bigger butts in season 2 (yes, really), entered its fourth season 12 September.
With it, came one of Marvel’s most famous sapphic characters, the lesbian Asgardian warrior princess Angela.
The popular PvP game features the likes of the X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and more, all available for players to control and beat the ichor out of each other across maps and game modes.
Season four of Marvel Rivals will also add a new map to the game; K’un Lun – Heart of Heaven, but on 25 September.
