Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, on Thursday announced it would pass on the full benefit of the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on automobiles to customers, effective September 22, 2025. The company has cut prices across its SUV lineup and other car segments, a move aimed at providing significant benefits to customers.The Fronx will now start at ₹6,84,900, cheaper by up to ₹1,12,600, while the Brezza will be priced from ₹8,25,900 after a reduction of ₹1,12,700. The Grand Vitara sees a cut of ₹1,07,000 with a new starting price of ₹10,76,500. The Jimny has also been revised, now starting at ₹12,31,500 with a price drop of up to ₹51,900. Alongside these revisions, the company has introduced a new SUV model, Victoris, priced at ₹10,49,900. The optimism follows the government’s decision to cut GST on automobiles.Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, said that the long-term compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the auto industry — historically around 7 per cent — was likely to be restored from 2026-27. He projected stronger gains in the small car segment, where Maruti has a dominant presence, with sales growth estimated at about 10 per cent.Banerjee noted that a mix of policy and monetary measures would contribute to this recovery.
