Martha Stewart's first book, 'Entertaining,' is back on shelves

This is your mother’s cookbook — but it’s getting a whole new shelf life. With 101 books now under her belt, Martha Stewart is revisiting her first-ever lifestyle tome, “Entertaining,” with a special reprint. The coffee table title, first published in 1982, hadn’t been stocked at major retailers in years — and was reportedly selling for hundreds of dollars on resale sites like eBay. “Entertaining” by Martha Stewart Luckily for interested readers, it’s now available on Amazon for under $50 — no bidding war required. In the wake of Netflix’s buzzy “Martha” documentary, plenty of Gen Z netizens have been researching the domestic doyenne’s beginnings with new interest. “Many of them had seen the cookbook in their mothers’ cookbook collection and asked their mothers for the book,” Stewart told the Washington Post. “But mothers are not keen on giving it up.” The 43-year-old book features 300 recipes and 450 full-color photographs, from outdoor omelettes to pasta buffets. (“I show the real stuff, no AI-engineered food,” she told the outlet.) When asked why 20-somethings are gravitating towards the book, Stewart simply replied: “Because I’m cool. Not only can I cook, I hang out with Snoop Dogg and I have gone to jail. I have been through the wringer and come out alive.” It’s been a busy year for the prolific star’s ever-evolving career; in addition to releasing “Martha Stewart’s Gardening Handbook,” she also launched her first skincare brand at the age of 84. And while she teased she’s also writing a memoir, in the meantime the next best thing might be reading the entertaining guide that started it all (and the rest of her books, of course). “What really changed my life was the publication of ‘Entertaining’ in 1982,” Stewart shared on her website earlier this year. “That really changed my life. I found my voice — and I think I’d found my career.” Why Trust Page Six Style Shopping
