The school is hosting its Fall Open House next month. MARLBOROUGH, MA — A private all-boys school in Marlborough is broadening its impact. Hillside School, a 150-acre boarding school in Marlborough, has officially announced a brand new Lower School. The program, which will serve students from kindergarten through third grade, will be co-ed. The Lower School, which is now enrolling for next fall, will offer athletics, after-school programming and small class sizes, among other activities. Hillside became an official International Baccalaureate (IB) World School this year, meaning it is a learning environment that is inquiry-based and engaging, prioritizing global perspectives. The school said it is the only junior boarding school in the country to receive the distinction. “Hillside is able to offer a multidimensional program truly unlike any other,” says Emily Kent, the head of Hillside's Lower School. “We have a proven history of educating holistically and a track record of success in fostering individualized learning. We are thrilled to now offer our resources and our expertise to younger students and cannot wait to watch a new generation of Hillside thrive.” Students in the new Lower School will follow a consistent schedule to balance academics with social-emotional learning, according to the school's website. The school day, which starts at 8:30, will start with a morning meeting, followed by a morning break, specialist classes, lunch/recess, math, reading/writing, and finish at 3 p.m. If you are interested in learning more, Hillside School is hosting its Fall Open House on Nov. 2:
